Our story

Built for Black women, because no one else was.

Beloluna started with a simple observation: Black women enter menopause earlier, experience it harder, and are dismissed more often — yet we're almost invisible in the research and products out there. We're building what we wished we'd had.

The beginning

A conversation between our founders changed the direction.

Our co-founder Amina was 43 when her cycle first started shifting. Her GP shrugged. The wellness apps she tried recommended more meditation and an elimination diet. A year later she was still exhausted, still dismissed, still without a plan.

A late-night call with Dr. Priya — a friend and clinician — turned into a spreadsheet of everything they wished existed. Specifically for women like them: working, middle-aged, Black, carrying their families and careers, and walking into doctors' offices where no one had done the reading.

That spreadsheet became Beloluna. It is still shaped by the question we ask at every team meeting: Would this help the women in our families?

“If the research won't include us, the product will.”

Values

What we hold to.

Built for us, by us

Black women lead our product, clinical, and community work. We don't add Black women as an afterthought — we start with them.

Evidence over hype

We lean on science — including the research that finally centers Black women's menopause experience.

Kind by design

Our product, language, and community are built to feel like a deep exhale.

Inclusive, always

We honor the full diversity of Black women — across nationality, body, orientation, and income.

Our commitments

What we won't do.

  • We will never sell your health data.

  • We will never use dark patterns — cancellation is one click.

  • We will never diagnose or promise outcomes.

  • We will always credit the researchers whose work we build on.
